Welcome to St. Denis’ Primary School

Dear Parent,

For some of you this may well be your first contact with our school. We hope that you find the information in our handbook helpful to you, if after reading it you are still unsure about anything then please do not hesitate to contact myself, or the school office.

Very often, parents say they feel out of touch with modern primary education and that things seem so different now. Well some of the activities in a modern primary school may be different to your primary school experience but many remain the same.

This will be explained to you at your stage meetings, which we have at the start of our school year. We also run induction meetings for parents of our new Primary One entrant in the summer and autumn terms.

The staff in St. Denis’ Primary work towards creating a happy, relaxed learning atmosphere where your child will be encouraged to participate in the life of the school and to strive to achieve the best possible for himself/ herself.

When your child joins us in St. Denis’ we are all entering a new partnership with the aim of producing the best possible education for you child. This can best be achieved when home and school are working together and communicating openly.

Can we take this opportunity of stressing the importance of keeping in touch with the school? It is always best to contact us if you have any questions about school life, no matter how small or trivial they seem. We give you our assurance that if we have any concerns about your child, you will always be contacted as soon as possible.
